If you don’t want to travel to Dehradun and are looking for a little shorter route then from Delhi you can directly travel to Rishikesh and from there to Narendra Nagar and from there to Chamba. From Chamba to Uttarkashi and then the route remains same.

Chamba to Uttarkashi – 88 km
To reach base camp you have to either reach Dehradun or directly Uttarkashi. From there you can either drive on your own or hire a taxi to take you to Sankri. The road is not metal and is rather rough.
